I’m going to be talking to you today about how I got my POWER back in my business, my life, and in my personal life – how I showed up as a leader in my own life.
A some of you know, I have written a book. It’s in round two of edits right now, so it’s so close to being done. And I’m very excited about it. It’s going to be officially launched on Valentine’s Day, but you’re going to be hearing from me about it until then because I aim to be on the bestseller list.
What I need to do for that is to get a certain number of people to say, “yes, I am going to buy it on Valentine’s Day!”
I’ll be posting instructions soon on how to do that. But what I would love for you to do right now is email me a heart emoji. I don’t care what color it is, any heart emoji to let me know that you want to be put on the list because here’s what I’m going to be doing:
Once I get this second round of edits back from my editor, I will make available a chapter of my book that you can read before it becomes officially published and launched out into the world. So if you want to be on the list to receive that, then go ahead and email me that heart emoji of any kind. I will reach out and let you know how you can do that.
So, my book is called “Turns Out, I’m Hot After All (How I Got My Power Back After a Breakup).
In it, I talk about divorce. You know, it’s not exactly the most exciting and fun thing in the world. But there are two ways to respond to it; you can fall down the rabbit hole of despair, which was a very tempting and easy route that I could have taken. Or, you can step into your own POWER and move forward. And that’s what I did.
If you’re someone who feels you don’t have an identity, you don’t know who you are, and you want to have a sense of POWER, or maybe in your business life, you feel like you’re not stepping up as a leader in the way that you want to, know that you can get your POWER back, too.
My book will tell you my process of how I went through that. The cool thing about it is that the process that I use is a lot of the same steps that I take my clients to show up big and achieve even bigger in their work.
There’s a constant theme in this book that comes from a quote my coach, Shameca Tankerson, says all the time. It’s been my mantra of life, and that quote is:
How you do one thing is how you do everything.
This experience and transformation into owning who I am is one I’ve been on for the past year and a half. During this time, I’ve noticed that the things bringing me down and causing me to not feel any power in my life were showing up in every aspect of my life: personal, business, family, relationships. And that’s because how you do one thing is how you do everything.
Whatever it is, if you’re feeling a loss of identity, a loss of sense of self, a loss of power in one area of your life, chances are, it’s showing up in multiple places.
I was able to show up as a leader in my own life by taking myself through the same steps that I take my clients to own their power, show up with authority, and achieve big goals.
The mantra of “how you do one thing is how you do everything” is an example of how I showed up for myself as a leader in my own life. My experience was a perfect opportunity for me to feel sorry for myself, but instead, what I did was I got support. I took action to get clear about who I am, which that’s a pretty big process. Yet a powerful and necessary one.
What I wanted and what I absolutely would not tolerate, and how I needed to show up 100% of the time, once I got all of that, I declared out, this is who I am.
In the fall, when I shared on my social media channels that I was Katti Power, that was a significant declaration for me if this is my new last name because this is who I am, right?
That was a big declaration of the work I had done to regain my power, my sense of self.
The book highlights all the steps I took more in-depth — from getting support and what that looks like to figure out who you are.
Now the work that I do with my clients involves a whole lot more work than just that. But this book touches on that portion of the work that I do with my clients.
Again, if you’re interested in checking it out before it becomes officially available, then email me that any-color heart emoji. And I will make sure you get a sample of my book.
